Rare Metals

Indium

Indium is a soft metal that resists oxidation and has excellent electrical conductivity.
It is an essential material for modern electronic devices such as semiconductors, liquid crystal displays, and smartphone touch panels.
Indium is rarely mined on its own and is often recovered as a byproduct during the refining of zinc ore.
Japan was once the world’s largest producer, but its mines have since closed. Today, China is the primary producing country.
