Gallium has a low melting point below 30°C and becomes liquid at around body temperature. Conversely, it has an extremely high boiling point of about 2,400°C. This gives it a remarkably wide temperature range.
Gallium is in high demand for use in semiconductor materials and communication technologies. As such, it is an essential component of modern electronic devices.
Gallium is rarely found in its elemental form in nature and is typically extracted as a byproduct during the refining of aluminum or zinc.
The main producing countries are China, Russia, and Kazakhstan. Japan also produces small amounts.
