Magnesium is a silvery-white lightweight metal. Due to its excellent strength, rigidity, and thermal conductivity, magnesium is widely used as a structural material in fields such as aviation, automotive, and electronics. It is in high demand as an alloying material for various metals, including aluminum alloys. Magnesium is used in products such as beverage cans and automotive aluminum wheels.
In terms of stable supply, over 90% of magnesium is currently sourced from China, which highlights vulnerabilities in the supply chain.
Our company offers our customers magnesium metal materials from Brazil and Turkey. We have begun supplying these materials to the Japanese market. In particular, magnesium from Brazil is the only “green magnesium” whose manufacturing process will achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions (including CO₂) by 2030. This helps protect the global environment.
